Applying Passport - A Tedious Process

Hope everyone of you are aware of applying for passports online. It is that you should fill up an online application form and you will be given an appointment date and time to submit your printed application. This facility is introduced in order to avoid rush in the passport offices. The same way, I booked an appointment and went there with my dad. But it was useless. While applying online, we were mentioned that there will be a separate queue for online applicants at the passport office. But, we were asked to join the normal queue of applicants the reason being that they were unable to manage the crowd there. Is this a valid reason? They really mislead us in such cases. Then, what is necessity of introducing online applications? seems puzzling.

At last, we went in and en quired the higher official about the same. He replied that he was unaware of the queues being merged. Moreover, they have several rules and regulations to accept our applications. They ask us for various documents verifying which they accept our application. It is necessary, but the documents vary widely for bachelors, married women, students and aged people. There is no proper instruction about the required documents anywhere in the whole building. These are the things happening while applying for a passport. So people, beware. Don't be aloof that applying a passport online is an easier process. It is nevertheless an easier one.
