Google Page Rank Update

Guys, am puzzled as to when is the next Google page rank update? On searching over the web, I found the schedule between 1st October and 7th October 2010. Till now, i haven't found any change in my PR. I knew that backlinks provide a greater part in determining the Page rank but can anyone explain to me as to how much links should a site have to get a better rank? Also confirm the PR update schedule if you get to know. Have a nice day!
