Nettles Drive Apartments, a barrier-free community specifically designed for low-income elderly and people with disabilities were officially dedicated at an open house ceremony June 11. The apartments are located at 12750 Nettles Drive. This community features sheltered walkways and double-wide breezeways, patios, laundry room and community rooms, gazebo, barbecue grill, picnic tables and a garden area, all wheel chair accessible. Each of the 30 one-bedroom apartments is designed for persons with disabilities and totally accessible for persons who use a wheelchair. Each apartment features roll-in showers, wider doorways, covered porches and walks, cabinets and counter tops at lower levels, easy to use appliances, and windows that are located low enough to allow easy viewing.
