Naxalism

The naxal challenge faced by different states in the country has heightened the interest in the study of naxalites and their ideology in recent years. Though a bulk of literature has been written on the history of naxalite movement, almost all of this focuses on the history of naxalite movement that happened in Bengal and Andhra Pradesh. But, most historians writing on this area has overlooked the fact that impact of Naxalbari revolt and Srikakulam revolt were far-reaching and in several parts of the country there were attempts to start a naxalite movement on similar lines. As the figures compiled by the Union Home Ministry indicates, from September 1967 till the middle of 1969, there has been a marked increase in the incidents of occupation of land, demonstrations demanding land for the landless, agitations for increase in wages of agricultural labourers etc. in different parts of the country. One can draw very important lessons from the study of history of rise [and fall] of naxalism in these areas.

Most studies so far have been content to study the history of only those regions where naxalism became popular. This paper focuses on the history of naxalite movement in a state where it failed to take root-Kerala. And it is for this very reason that a study of history of naxalite movement in Kerala is important. What is it that prevented the growth of naxalism in Kerala? The purpose of this paper is to answer this interesting question.

Another important theme this paper addresses is the causes which led to the rise of Naxalism in Kerala. This question is important because, unlike in other states, naxalism did not emerge in Kerala due to the stark class contradictions existing between the landlords and peasants; but it was initiated by a number of other factors; though the presence of contradictions gave an impetus to the movement. The project investigates these other factors which led to the rise of naxalism in Kerala. The first theme is inter-related with this second theme in that the factors which gave rise to naxalite movement also play a bearing on the death of the movement.

Mobile Chat

Gossip is the human equivalent of 'social grooming' among primates, which has been shown to stimulate production of endorphins, relieving stress and boosting the immune system. Two-thirds of all human conversation is gossip, because this 'vocal grooming' is essential to our social, psychological and physical well-being. Mobiles facilitate gossip. Mobiles have increased and enhanced this vital therapeutic activity, by allowing us to gossip 'anytime, anyplace, anywhere' and to text as well as talk. Mobile gossip is an effective and important new stress-buster. The study found that men gossip at least as much as women, especially on their mobiles. Thirty-three percent of men indulge in mobile gossip every day or almost every day, compared with twenty-six percent of women. Men gossip for just as long and about the same subjects as women, but tend to talk more about themselves.

Creative Minds

Creative people revel in making something out of nothing, so when a new year and a blank calendar appears, the possibilities seem endless. Suddenly, impossible editors aren't so intimidating, artistic debuts are only one workshop away and sales goals are easy to achieve.

Most people who are successful in life because they set goals and develop step-by-step action plans for achieving them. But guess what? Only three percent of adults have clear, written goals. What a shame. Especially considering that those who do accomplish up to 10 times more than other people, including people who are more talented. In fact, a person who sets goals and focuses on taking small steps to achieve them will run circles around a genius who talks a lot but never does anything.

Serve The Mankind

Service to mankind is service to God. I always feel dejected when I see physically challenged people. I will go ahead and aid them in the best way I can. It makes me question God while seeing the blind people. Deaf or dumb can manage a bit when compared to the blind. I hope you all agree on the above statement. If any of your friends are in need of a better doctor to perform Lasik surgery, I would definitely recommend Dr. Thierry Hufnagel, a famous Ophthalmologist. Lasik vision recovery seems to be the fastest surgery wherein the patient will be able to see well in a day or two. Guys, just check out and please help the needy people.
